Description:
Each month we identify a simple, inexpensive project that can be mass produced (think dozens, not thousands). A bunch of us spend a weekend at the Interlock Sweatshop and assemble units. We get a local gift shop(s) to carry the product, sell at street fests or on First Fridays, or even make it a 'thank you' gift for donating to the group, PBS style.
If a class can be organized around the development or manufacturing (like an intro to soldering), even better.
If anyone is open to the idea, I'd like to meet up for a brainstorming session and get moving on this as soon as possible.
Ideas
- kit building service: "Send us your un-built kit and we'll build it for you". Could generate a little income without needing to really obtain any materials.
- arduino shield for thermocoupler or iButton system
