Problem: our windows are obscured by shrubbery. So unless we're lighting them up from the outside for our own enjoyment within the space, this idea may be DOA. --[[User:Berticus|Berticus]] 19:42, 10 December 2009 (UTC) | Problem: our windows are obscured by shrubbery. STATUS: This project is canceled unless we think the windows are more visible from the outside.
Description:
The windows at the temp space and the final space have double pane security glass. Light is diffused but one can imagine the possibilities
Goals:
- Keep costs to a minimum
- Create a system that others can learn to use (not static content)
Ideas:
- Treat each pane as a pixel for pong, tetris, animated gifs, etc
- Spell INTERLOCK in the glass
- Game of Life pattern
Parts
- Rainbowduino
Arduino- basic, used to control LEDs and upload new programs - Multicolor LEDs -
- hot glue gun
- 22 guage wire
- Mounting block
Comments
How many "pixels" do we have to work with? I seem to recall 3 high, maybe 12-16 long with a window interrupting four-ish blocks in the center. Letters are pretty tricky with just three vertical pixels. More abstract light patterns would be really cool though. --Berticus 20:47, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
